Telling stories is far more than following a narrative structure or adhering to the rules of the craft. While a strong plot and vivid writing are essential for a novel or short story to work, tapping into our imagination is the first step to creating fictional texts. This course is designed for anyone who has always wanted to tell stories but doesn’t know how to access the wealth of creativity within themselves. For everyone carries this source of boundless imagination inside. Over five evenings, we’ll take an unconventional journey—using tools like meditation and breathing exercises—to dive into our inner silence. In that stillness, beyond thought, lies what every writer seeks: a wealth of images and inspiration. Prerequisites: Everyone should have read Lewis Carroll’s novel "Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland" before the course begins. Please bring the book to the first session. Even though the course will take place in English only, you can bring along the German version of "Alice in Wonderland" if it is that one you already have at home.
